Event Description: Out at the Ballgame, an exclusive Rainbow Charities special event, is the original group event bringing the GLBT community and Major League Baseball together.  Now in its ninth year, Out at the Ballgame 2009 includes group seating for 500 in the Right Field Terrace Reserved sections inside historic Wrigley Field plus an exclusive luxury rooftop behind the right field bleachers for 200 to 250 VIP guests to watch the Chicago Cubs play the Pittsburgh Pirates on August 16, 2009 at 1:20 pm.  Additionally, during the eight weeks leading up to the event, the Chicago Free Press will be hosting a series of Warm-up Parties at neighborhood bars to promote the event.  For a schedule of those Warm-up parties, please click on the “Warm-up Parties” button below.  The Warm-up Parties include Miller and Absolut drink specials along with games and contests with tons of fabulous prizes such as signed Cubs memorabilia, concert and theatre tickets, gift certificates to local restaurants and retailers and more.  All profits from Out at the Ballgame are donated each year to local GLBT organizations. Wrigley Field Terrace Reserved Seating: Due to increased Cubs season ticket sales in recent years, we are limited to 500 seats inside Wrigley Field for 2009.  These seats are all located together in a single block in the Right Field Terrace Reserved sections and, as in the past, they will sell out fast.  If you want seating inside Wrigley Field, you must act quickly.

VIP Rooftop Experience: In addition to Wrigley Field seating, we have exclusive access for 200 to 250 guests on a luxury VIP Rooftop on Sheffield behind the right field bleachers.  The VIP Rooftop provides a premium viewing experience in a luxury environment, including all food and beverages (yes, beer and wine is included), combined with tons of amazing prizes that will be raffled off in between innings.  Prizes include Cubs signed baseballs and other memorabilia, premium concert and theatre tickets, gift certificates to many of your favorite local restaurants and merchants, and much, much more.  The VIP Rooftop is reserved exclusively for us for this event and is perfect for anyone who prefers a “private party” atmosphere in a full service, luxury setting.

Ticket Pick Up or Delivery: When purchasing your tickets, you may select UPS delivery of your tickets for a small additional fee.  As an alternative to UPS delivery, you may pick up your tickets Monday thru Friday beginning July 28 at the offices of the Chicago Free Press located at 3845 N. Broadway, 2nd Floor.  Anyone who is unable to pick up their tickets at the Chicago Free Press can retrieve them at NorthEnd bar at 3733 N. Halsted St. on Saturday, August 15, from 3pm to 5pm, or on game day from 11am to 1pm.  If you need to make special arrangements to pick up your tickets, please contact us at 773-868-0005 x52 as soon as possible so we can be sure to get you your tickets.

Wrigley Field and VIP Rooftop Policies: All guests should please take a few minutes and visit www.chicagocubs.com to familiarize themselves with the Chicago Cubs’ and Wrigley Field’s policies, public transportation options and other important game day information.  Likewise, for those of you who will be joining us on the VIP Rooftop, the address is 3621 N. Sheffield Ave. and you are encouraged to visit www.wrigleydoneright.com to learn about the rooftop’s special policies and to check out the menu and other luxury amenities available.  The Chicago Free Press will be sending out a follow up email a week or two prior to game day to remind everyone when and where to go on game day.

All Sales Are Final: Please understand that this event is based on ticket and space availability and, therefore, we cannot have persons purchasing tickets or VIP Rooftop passes and then canceling at the last minute.  Accordingly, all sales of tickets and VIP Rooftop passes are final.  Once a purchase is made, no refunds or cancellations will be allowed.
